New Commercial Floor Deck & Structural Repairs for Chapel

Undertook the design and construction of a new first floor deck for a Chapel conversion in Llanelli. The existing masonry structure was displaying evidence of significant cracking and movement, a building survey and ground investigation identified soft ground to a depth exceeding 3m.
The proposed new floor deck was to be designed for commercial loadings, and to avoid introducing additional loads to the existing masonry structure the new floor deck was designed as an independent structure on new piled foundations on firm stratum at approximately 5m to 6m depth. We engaged a piling contractor, undertook the detail design, and the fabrication and installation of the steel frame floor deck. Remedial works to the existing building included the design and specification of structural repairs, crack stitching and new walls & members to support the existing roof structure.
Excellent service. Mark produced all the drawings and calculations for a new steel floor we were installing in a Chapel conversion. Issues arose with the foundations, but Mark produced a solution which addressed these. He even arranged all the specialist piling and steelwork contractors.
